All-New Apple Watch App for Thoughts released in Version 1.6

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on my first watchOS app, Thoughts - Quotes Manager for Apple Watch, which shipped with Thoughts 1.6. This project was some sort of a fresh start, because the concept had to differ significantly from the iOS app: a unique form factor and display size, a distinct OS and new input methods — and most importantly, different use cases. Considering those factors, I've decided to focus on efficient inspiration capturing on the go. Under the shower, late night in bed or whenever the iPhone can't be reached — the Apple Watch app should allow to easily save Inspirations and sync to the iPhone and iPad with iCloud.

During the design phase, I optimized the app for quick and simple interactions while still offering advanced library management options. In fact, with the Apple Watch app you can create a new inspiration with detailed info like author, collection and tags with just two taps. This builds upon Default Values of Collections from the iOS app. When creating a new Inspiration on the watch, users can select a Collection. The watchOS app will then automatically fill in the Default Values (e.g. author, tags, ...) of that Collection — quick & powerful! It's even possible to set a Default Collection on the watch, so all these details are pre-filled automatically.
