Time travel
There is now a new button allowing you to easily return to the current day. When selecting a past day, the list won't scroll anymore to the last event and instead start with the first. The info box labels were updated as well to make it more clear, that it is a past day.

Copy version info and feedback
The About window now offers the option to copy the version info of GlanceCal for Support incidents. Hover over the version info and click to copy to pasteboard. Additionally, when you send a mail with feedback, the OS and the installed version of GlanceCal are now automatically filled in.

This update introduces a new powerful way to take a quick look at your calender. A custom defined global shortcut opens a QuickLook window of GlanceCal wherever you are, even in fullscreen applications.

QuickLook
Now you can instantly open a floating QuickLook Window of GlanceCal with a custom defined keyboard shortcut.
Go to   Menu ➔ Settings ➔ QuickLook shortcut    to define your custom shortcut. To close the QuickLook window use the same keyboard shortcut a second time or the standard macOS close button of the window.
The QuickLook window will stay on top of every other application as a floating window until you actively close it. This additionally allows you to have a a floating GlanceCal window on your screen you can always glance at. Just execute your custom shortcut once and instead of closing it afterwards, move the window where you want it to stay.

Introducing time travel
GlanceCal now allows you to select future or past days and check their events out. Simply use the arrow buttons on the bottom of the main interface. If you want to get back to today, just dismiss the window or klick   Menu ➔ Reset selected day   in the options.

Speedy keyboard shortcuts
To make your time travel experiene even better, GlanceCal supports keyboard shortcuts too. Press   →   to jumpt to the next and   ←   to the previous day. When it is time to return to the present, simply hit   ↓  .

Application menu
The menu was optimized to place the most used functions at the most prominent places. The information about the app version and the link to the release notes page have been relocated and can now be found within the help submenu. The option to maually reset the selected day was added.

Contrast in Light and Darkmode
To improve the readability of texts, the contrast between interface elements and app background was increased. As a result, the darkmode now features a new, truely dark appearance.

Default status bar display option
The new default setting for the status bar display has changed to 'calendar icon'. You might have to change your settings if you prefer the date to be displayed as all users default to this setting. Go to   Menu ➔ Settings ➔ status bar display   to adjust your preference.

Installation process
The installation process of GlanceCal was optimized and the onboarding texts were updated.

Internal cleanup
Some fundamental code was carefully optimized. This results in a more stable app and in a smoother user experience.

GlanceCal now runs natively on both Apple silicon and Intel-based Mac computers because it contains executable

Status bar icon option
This version adds a new option to what can be displayed in the status bar: a small icon in addition to the various dates to help you safe space in your status bar. Go to   Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Status bar display ➔ Icon   to activate.

Optimizations for macOS 11
This update includes further optimizations for macOS 11 and brings a brand new app icon to match the look and feel of macOS 11. It also ensures that GlanceCal remains fully compatible with older macOS versions like Catalina.

Next level performance
GlanceCal is now based on a new calendar event fetching mechanism which loads and organizes your calendar events in background tasks. This relults in dramaticly improved performance - especially noticeable when opening the popup view
with many events.
Now it appears instantly because the event fetching has already been done.

Live user interface updates
The fact that GlanceCal now uses the new event fetching allows for another great new feature: When a current event ends or a future event starts, the view will update itself to reflect these changes. Furthermore, if you perform changes
to your calendar, as example add new new event, this will be updated live as well.

Disabled animations
In oder to make the whole GlandeCal experince snappier, the animation of the popup is now deactivated. Hoever, if you like it to animate, you can turn the behavior in the newly added settings option back on. Go to   Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Animate popover  .

Dutch translation
Now GlanceCal is availabe in Dutch aswell - dat is geweldig.

Readability and lightmode
The starting times of your calendar events are now better readable beacuse they are displayed in a bolder font. In addition to that the contrast bewteen text and background in lightmode has been increased.

Window behavior
In perevious versions newly opend windows, such as settings, could appear hidden under other active windows. Now they will appear on top of all windows as floating windows, so that they will be visible until they are closed.
